  • BREAKING: Trump Withdraws From Major UN Council, Doesn’t Give A Sh*t About Human Rights

    Donald Trump, News, Politics

It is reported that President Donald Trump will announce our withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council – today. He is fulfilling one of his pledge to leave a body that the administration has accused of hypocrisy and bias against Israel; even though the country has been a perpetrator of human rights violations.

US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will both announce the official withdrawal today at 5 PM. Two people familiar with the matter asked not to be identified due to the fact that this decision has not been made public as of yet.

Trump Retaliating against Any Organization That Holds Him Accountable

The United Nations overwhelmingly condemned and voted against Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, despite threats from Trump to pull funding for the organization. The vote came after Haley issued a direct warning, saying that the United States will think twice about funding the United Nations if it condemned Trump’s decision. In a statement back in December 2017, Haley said this about of the objection: “The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in this assembly.” And that threat is apparently coming to fruition.

A State Department spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment, while the United Nations have said that it has not officially received notification that the United States will withdraw today.

The news comes as the Trump administration is under intense scrutiny from human rights organizations and lawmakers over its repugnant decision to separate children from their parents at the United States-Mexico border. The Trump administration has shown that it will be ruthless if it needs to be, regardless of the opinions of any organization or our system of checks and balances.

The United Nations Council is scheduled to discuss Palestine and Israel on July 2.
