Melania Trump has not missed a beat when it comes to fashion. And she made sure to take her style game up a few notches for this overseas trip. We’re talking super expensive notches.
Trump was seen in Sicily wearing a $51, 500 dollar Dolce and Gabbana jacket. Seriously? Just to give you an idea of how ridiculous the jacket is let’s compare it to the average family income. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average family income in 2015 was $55,775. And that is just $4000 more than that damn jacket.
Remember when Republicans chewed Michelle Obama alive for wearing a dress that was almost 90% less than Trump’s jacket? No, let’s take a walk down memory lane. Back in 2016, people actually were upset that Michelle wore 2 floral dressed on a trip to Cuba, totaling $6,680. They were referred to as ‘obscenely expensive’ outfits. Take a look at one of the dresses below.
Well, if those were obscenely expensive outfits, what do you call the Melania’s. The Republicans are mighty quiet today regarding that. Anyway, You can always count on Twitter. They had a field day dragging Melania for wearing such expensive clothing while there are people in the world that use that money to benefit things like schools and needy children.
Now, whether the piece was rented for the day or purchased (yes, we know she has the money), The FLOTUS definitely should have been mindful of her outfit choices. Especially being around people who probably will never see $50,000 dollars in their lifetime. Do better.
